3M Scotch 88 premium vinyl electrical tape (Series 88) is a flame retardant, rubber-based adhesive vinyl insulating tape designed for electrical applications. Available in 3/4″ x 66 ft (0.75″ x 66 ft) with an 8.5 mil thickness, it provides primary electrical insulation for wire and cable splices rated up to 60 volts and is suitable for bundling, insulating and protecting wiring. Meets relevant standards including ASTM D-3005 Type 2; CSA certification; MIL-I-24391C; UL 510 File E129200; VDE 0340. Tensile strength ~20 lb/in. Operating temperature range from 0 to 220 °F (−17.78 °C to 104.44 °C). Backing: PVC/vinyl; adhesive: natural rubber / rubber-based. Common applications: harnessing wires and cables, insulating splices, corrosion inhibition of conductors.
